Equipment Every Tree Company Utilizes
The most common method used by tree services to cut down a tree is a chainsaw. In
some cases it is possible that an axe will get the job done. There are two basic types of chainsaws that are used. Gas and electric powered chainsaws are the gold standard for tree
service use. Many avoid the use of gas powered chainsaws because they are not a green solution, due to the gas emissions that hurt the environment. Others feel that it is a cost issue, with the cost of gas being a primary concern.
Electric is popular because it removes both of these issues however, the use of extension wires is sometimes considered a problem in itself. The other common tools are ladders, ropes, wedges, gloves, goggles, boots, and first aid. Ladders are used in order to reach the crown of the tree in pruning tasks. Rope is necessary for pulling through select regions of the tree during pruning, removal, or topping. Wedges tend to be used in conjunction with chainsaws to make the task much simpler. Most tree services will use a chipper in order to breakdown leftover debris. Chippers are sometimes used to transport chunks of tree. However, in most cases they are used simply for breaking down large trunks.
