Slime in Your Mulch
If you’ve ever noticed slimey, fluorescent colored mold on your mulch, this is probably known as “Slime Mold.” The scientific name is Fuligo septica.
Don’t worry, although kind of gross to look at, it poses no threat to your landscape or environment. It can move up to one or two feet per day across your landscape or even sidewalks in search of other organisms to eat.
If left alone, it will eventually dry up and dissapear. If you have other questions or concerns, feel free to give us a call today.
